How Azadi March has spawned a dirty battle of narratives on social media

The ongoing Azadi March led by Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Ameer Maulana Fazlur Rehman against Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government has triggered a social media war between the two sides. Prominent leaders of major political parties and even ministers are active on social media amid tense environment in the federal capital. The official social media channels of major parties, too, are fully engaged in this battle of narratives in the cyber space. Jannat Mirza becomes Pakistan’s No 1 TikTok star

Jannat Mirza has become number one TikTok model of Pakistan with around 3.2 million followers and more than 29.5 million likes. 20-year-old Jannat Mirza belongs to Pakistan’s Faisalabad city. She has been a student of Arts College and had also moved to Japan recently for educational purpose. The emerging star has uploaded 224 videos on TikTok, the majority of which have received close to 100,000 to 1 million likes. Jannat Mirza's popularity for TikTok has even reached the Japanese advertising agencies, where she has also received offers to serve as a model in Japanese advertising. UAE unhappy as PCB doesn’t allow Pak players for T10

KARACHI: Pakistan has been holding its home series and most of the Pakistan Super League matches in the UAE for the last many years, but the country seems at odds with PCB at a time when international cricket is returning to Pakistan. The Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has robustly protested the PCB's decision to not allow Pakistani players to participate in the T10 League. And several accounts suggest that, according to the PCB at least, the decision to revoke the NOCs came from the board patron and Prime Minister Imran Khan. The PCB spokesperson told the Jang correspondent that Pakistan’s position on T10 league is clear and no further comments could be offered on the “sensitive issue”. The PCB originally allowed players to be drafted in the league but later revoked the permission last week. The 25-year-old Azam took over the T20I reins from Sarfaraz earlier this month after the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to remove the Karachi native due to his failing level of performances. Fazl gives PM two days to quit

ISLAMABAD: Top leadership of the opposition parties at Azadi March came up with the unanimous demand of resignation of the Prime Minister Imran Khan while expressing complete no-confidence in government policies, as the JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman gave two days deadline to the premier to quit. The JUI-F chief managed to get key leaders of all the opposition parties on the container, including opposition leader and PML-N President Shahbaz Sharif, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, ANP chief Asfandyar Wali Khan, Mahmood Khan Achakzai of PkMAP, QWP chief Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and others, who pledged to get rid of the government. 100,000 jobs for Pakistani engineers

LAHORE: High Education Department and Lampro Mellon Limited Pakistan have singed a MoU for certification courses for engineers of educational institutions and universities. The duration of the MoU is for 10 years and the best job opportunities would be available to engineers going through this certification. According to the agreement, certification course would be held every year for 5,000 engineers of educational institutions and universities of the higher education department. Punjab Minister for Higher Education has said the Punjab government has made arrangements to provide job opportunities to 100,000 engineers at the international job market. He said “Our engineers can earn 4,000 to 5,000 dollars which will increase the size of national economy by $2 billion.” The minister said there was an opportunity to move our country forward in Chip Technology.
