Cyclone 'Kyarr' update: Karachi’s coastal areas suffers sea intrusion

KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department on Monday issued an alert saying Super Cyclonic Storm over Eastcentral Arabian Sea has moved further west-northwestward during last 12 hours and now lay centered at about 745 km southwest of Karachi. The Super Storm now lay centered at 0800 PST of 28th October, 2019 near Latitude 18.3°N and Longitude 65.2°E with maximum sustained surface winds of 230-240 kmph and is currently gusting at 265 kmph. "The strong winds and high tide have pushed the water in the low-lying areas of Karachi, causing sea intrusion," said Sardar Surfraz, Chief Meteorological Officer of PMD while talking to The News. He added that they are also expecting light to moderate rain in Karachi from Wednesday till Friday, as a westerly wave is interacting with the cyclonic conditions in the Arabian Sea. Hareem Shah to host a Ramazan transmission?

Tiktoker Hareem Shah might grace our television screens in Ramazan this year.  A recent tweet by an account identifying as Hareem revealed that she has been approached by a major TV channel to do a Ramazan transmission. “I have been approached by a leading TV Channel to host their 2020 Ramadan transmission. Do you want to see me host it? Share your thoughts,” Hareem asked. A video of hers donning a hijab and lip-syncing to a hymn about fasting and Ramazan was also posted on the same account. While reports of her doing a Ramazan show might be dubious it didn’t stop the public from voicing their opposition on the possibility.
