PM Imran hosts Prince William, Kate Middleton at Prime Minister House

Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton met Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday.
The couple — who are the first royals to officially visit Pakistan since Prince Charles and his wife Camilla visited the region in 2006 — were received by the premier at the Prime Minister House, where a lunch was hosted in honour of the guests.
William's late mother, Diana, was a friend of the prime minister and visited Pakistan twice — 1996 and 1997 — to help raise awareness and funds for the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital.

Cyclone 'Kyarr' update: Karachi’s coastal areas suffers sea intrusion

KARACHI: Pakistan Meteorological Department on Monday issued an alert saying Super Cyclonic Storm over Eastcentral Arabian Sea has moved further west-northwestward during last 12 hours and now lay centered at about 745 km southwest of Karachi. The Super Storm now lay centered at 0800 PST of 28th October, 2019 near Latitude 18.3°N and Longitude 65.2°E with maximum sustained surface winds of 230-240 kmph and is currently gusting at 265 kmph. "The strong winds and high tide have pushed the water in the low-lying areas of Karachi, causing sea intrusion," said Sardar Surfraz, Chief Meteorological Officer of PMD while talking to The News. He added that they are also expecting light to moderate rain in Karachi from Wednesday till Friday, as a westerly wave is interacting with the cyclonic conditions in the Arabian Sea.
